Accreditation

The Central Maine Medical Center School of Nuclear Medicine Technology is accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Educational Programs in Nuclear Medicine Technology (JRCNMT). The JRCNMT is the only accrediting body for Nuclear Medicine Technology in the United States. Accreditation by the JRCNMT signifies that the program has met or exceeded standards set by the JRCNMT and gives assurance to the students that national standards are being met in the educational program. Concerns regarding compliance with the standards may be made to the College or directly to the JRCNMT.

The Joint Review Committee on Educational Programs in Nuclear Medicine Technology (JRCNMT) and its sponsoring organizations, the American College of Radiology, the American Society of Radiologic Technologists, the Society of Nuclear Medicine, and the Society of Nuclear Medicine (Technologist Section), cooperate to establish, maintain and promote appropriate standards of quality for postsecondary educational programs in nuclear medicine technology to provide skilled, professional services to the patients served. Educational programs, which meet or exceed these minimum standards, are granted an accreditation status by the JRCNMT, providing public recognition of such achievement.” www.jrcnmt.org
