Clark F. Miller School of Radiologic Technology
The
Clark F. Miller School of Radiologic Technology at Central
Maine Medical Center offers a challenging and rewarding
career opportunity for motivated individuals in the field
of radiologic technology. CMMC offers a two-year certificate
program designed to provide instruction and clinical experience
in the science and art of radiologic technology.
Radiologic
technology combines advanced technology and human compassion.
Radiologic technologists use their knowledge of physics, human anatomy,
and physiology to create permanant medical images. Through a blend of
classroom and clinical training, students learn radiographic equipment
operation, patient positioning, radiation safety, and patient care.
The
School of Radiologic Technology was founded in 1949 by Clark F. Miller,
M.D. It was the first formal training program for x-ray students in the
state of Maine. The school, its instructors, and its graduates maintain
a leadership role in the education of radiologic technologists.
